Learn to Surf in Tasmania
Marrawah is the most westerly point of Tasmania, and the Indian Ocean can be quite fierce. It isn't easy to get to, and once there it may be better to stay out of the waves and watch the pros practice their art - Tassies surf and windsurf championships are held there each year.Swansea, on the shores of the Great Oyster Bay is a popular surf spot.
Surf can be found on the north coast at Low Head, at East Beach on the Bass Stait.
Bay of Fires in the north east offers good surf, but is remote.
Stumpys Bay and Cape Naturaliste in the Mt William National Park are both good for surf, but again rather remote.
